Nami - a space divider playing with light and shadow. A thin sheet of lamp-foil is cut in to nearly 100 unique stripes without any leftovers. Combined in the right order the elements shape a gentle wave - thereby the name “Nami” (Japanese for Wave) - that allow light to go through the space divider while blocking for visual contact.
Originally made for the one-off exhibition by A.Petersen, Bygning A, this piece was later bought by “The National Arts Foundation“ - where it today can be seen by the public at Egå Gymnasium as part of the “Vores Kunst” collection.

“Traveling and working in Japan was inspiring and a dream I share with many Danish artists and designers. But by exploring the dream, I realized how “Japan” was… a dream. I guess the fairytale of “Denmark” also is a dream more present in the mind of Japanese artists than in the daily life of Danes.
Here I tried to explore how to block visual contact without blocking light. Also it shows how we’re all influenced by impacts far from our self - being connected without knowing the connections.”
