At first glance, this lamp seems to be a simple, white, perforated sphere. Closer inspection reveals natures own formula for life and beauty, the Fibonacci sequence, that previously has inspired Leonardo da Vinci, Johan Sebastian Bach and many other great artists.

Here the sequence updates geometrical light-principles from the great master of light, Pouls Henningsens, in to a time-less Louis Poulsen light that makes any room a more human place to spend time in. The shade has become an entire collection since its launch in 2015.

“The advanced geometry couldn’t be created without inventing new methods of prototype assembly yet also new methods of mass production.
After refining the light-optimasation of the geometry, majority of time was spend in how to make the invisible even more invisible: the connections between different elements that click together just the right way with out anyone being able to see it as it hangs in the room.

The geometry seams to be “asymmetrical“ and slightly out of balance thanks to the build in Golden Ration of the Fibonacci sequence. In the beginning people are disturbed by this - but after a while people fall in love with the natural imbalance of the geometry, that make it float through the space. Beside lighting up the room, it becomes the center of the room, an object where you find the same peace as when glaring in to a fireplace”
