Swirl was designed to guaranty as much and good light as possible while preventing unpleasant glare from the light source. Inspiration comes from the snail shell and the work of legendary Danish designer, Poul Henningsen, the master of light.
This gave the SWIRL lamp its advanced geometry that covers the lightbulb from ALL angles while reflecting the light downwards where needed the most. The thin shades ensure translucence as we know it from all the other classical Le Klint lamps. This combination creates a comfortable light and gives smooth, soft shadows while a minimum of the light from the lightbulb is getting lost. Available in several models and sizes.

“I love snail shells. They have a logic and poetry which I can’t explain but try to achieve in all my designs. The geometry of snail shells are pure and honest, mathematical, efficient, light weight, economical and very strong. With this lamp I try to adapt natural principles into the man-made world.
The first months of this project countless prototypes where made using classical techniques such as paper, copper wire and cardboard. Hereafter I used this project to teach me how to use 3D software which helped me to refine the geometry and later create files used to mass-production."
